The proposed presentation summarizes the results of the study “Benefits of PLM” conducted in 2009 in the German automotive industry. The study was carried out for the third time in ten years. In its first part, the study assesses the maturity of PLM implementation of the participants and clusters them into PLM leaders or followers. After that, the impact of the PLM implementation status on Key Performance Indicators as well as on achieved PLM benefits was investigated. Finally, best practice implementation strategies of the PLM leaders were identified and described in detail. The results of the study deliver valuable information and guidelines for PLM decision makers in the industry during the current hard economical crisis.

Industrial Product Service Systems (IPS²) is defined as “an integrated industrial product and service offering that delivers value in use”. Compared to single physical products or services IPS² are characterized by a very high degree of dynamic changes not only during their planning but throughout their entire life cycle. These changes have to be managed, tracked and documented by a change management process and supported by a change management system. As IPS² changes and change processes are very difficult to plan during the IPS² development phase, existing static and deterministic change management solutions are not appropriate to be used for IPS². This paper describes the concept of an adaptive change management for IPS². This concept allows for appropriate redesigning, adaptation and execution of change processes of IPS² throughout its entire life cycle to carry out an IPS² change most efficiently with regard to time and costs. The development of this concept is based on a goal-oriented process modeling method that defines a business process by using loosely coupled intelligent agents. These agents are coupled during the process execution, in real time and depending on the main process issues. The developed concept has been prototypically implemented und validated by means of a case study. The concept presented in this paper has been developed in the research project Transregio 29 “Industrial Product-Service Systems – Dynamic Interdependency of Product and Service in the Production Area“.

Angesichts der Bedrohung durch Produktpiraterie sind viele Unternehmen dazu gezwungen, wirksame Maßnahmen gegen Plagiate und Produktfälschungen zu ergreifen. Neben juristischen und organisatorischen Maßnahmen kommt insbesondere auch dem Einsatz von technischen Verfahren zum Schutz der Originalprodukte und -komponenten eine erhebliche Bedeutung zu. Im Rahmen des vom BMBF geförderten Projekts MobilAuthent wird eine RFID-basierte Lösung für die fälschungssichere Produktauthentifizierung und -verfolgung entlang der Supply-Chain und des Produktlebenszyklus entwickelt. Die Bausteine der entwickelten Lösung können entsprechend der unternehmens- und produktspezifischen Anforderungen zu einer integrierten Gesamtlösung kombiniert und konfiguriert werden. Dieser Beitrag stellt den Lösungsansatz sowie den aktuellen Stand der Arbeiten vor.
